Taking Poland as a case, it will argue that migrations from communist states and relevant policies deserve more attention of migration scholars. Communist regimes developed unprecedented systems of mobility control (and police control in general) and left large archives of relevant data, now available. This offers opportunities for historians as well as social scientists interested in various general and specific questions, such as the dimensions and consequences of the freedom of movement, patterns of mobility under non-market economies, formation and conversion of social capital, or limits of terror as an instrument of migration control." - Présentation éditeurRessources en ligne (Internet) : Cliquez ici pour consulter en ligneSujet - Nom commun : histoire de l'immigration | historiographie | communisme | mobilité | liberté de circulation | contrôle | répression Sujet - Nom géographique : Pologne -- pays d'origine Dewey : 325.1Plan de classement : : 1 Introduction à l’histoire de l’immigration | 1A Histoire de l’immigrationRésumé "The paper presents selected results of a research project on migrations from communist Poland.
